Breast Lifting
The ligaments that hold breast tissue in place can loosen over time. There may be incompatibility between breast tissue and surrounding skin due to weight changes, breastfeeding, and the effect of gravity. The problem could be related to breast tissue, skin, or both. As a result, a hollow-looking sagging breast may appear.
When volume is sufficient, existing breast tissue is reshaped and a fuller, more erect breast is created.
Before the surgery
Mammography or breast ultrasound is done before the operation.
Breast disease or cancer in your family is questioned. Chronic diseases, smoking and drugs are questioned.
Breast Lifting Operation
In cosmetic breast lift surgery, sagging breast tissue is reshaped and excess skin is removed. The nipple is brought where it should be. The operation is performed under general anesthesia in hospital conditions, in the operating room. It takes 1.5-2 hours.
The sagging can be eliminated by performing a more limited lifting procedure, incision around the nipple, or by placing only breast implants in suitable patients. The scar around the nipple will no longer be pronounced. In more sagging breasts, in addition to the scar around the nipple in lifting procedures, 4-5 cm extends from the central part of the lower edge of the nipple. there may be a trace in length. In this case, the surgical scar is hidden only at the junction of the brownish skin of the nipple with the white skin of the breast and becomes minimal. There is no breast surgery without scarring. However, these traces are evident in the beginning and become vague over time.
Postoperative
It is usually comfortable after the operation. Pain is usually not a problem. If the breast implant is used during surgery, there may be limitations in arm movements for a few days. A bra-like dressing is applied to the breasts. The dressing is opened 2 days later and the wound is checked. It can be downloaded. You can take a shower.
Absorbable stitches must not be removed. The patient wears a sports bra for 6 weeks and massage is recommended. There may be swelling in the early period, nipple numbness, and purplish discoloration on the skin. These disappear spontaneously in a short time. The patient can return to work within 3-4 days.
Things to know
It is recommended to stay away from heavy sports for 3 months. Every surgical procedure heals leaving a scar, often the quality of the scars cannot be determined in advance. In some cases, the scars are not noticed, some patients may have scars in the skin and deep tissues, and some patients may even require surgical correction or other treatments.
Most women naturally have breast asymmetry. There may be differences in the shape, size and symmetry of the breast and nipple.
