Before the surgery
First of all, sight and eye examination is performed. Particularly questioned are chronic diseases and the use of blood thinners. If there is a history of using Botox or rope sling, it should be stated.
Operation
The procedure can be performed under local or general anesthesia. It is a painless and short surgical procedure.
It is done with a cut of a few centimeters in the scalp. From the deep plane a tunnel is created that extends from the scalp to the eyebrow, just above the bone, and the connective tissues (ligaments) that cause the eyebrow to sag or loosen are freed or stiffened. Thus, the desired shape can be given to the eyebrows. After the procedure, an indistinct scar remained between the hair and scalp.
Postoperative
The early period after surgery usually passes at ease. There may be swelling and bruising around the eyes and temples. On the same day, you can be discharged with pain relievers and antibiotic tablets. You can take a bath the next day. Tears may increase, the eyes may be disturbed by the light for a while.
Absorbable stitches are used. It is not necessary to take points. You can take a bath the next day.
The person can return to work after 3 days.
Things to know
The patient may not be able to close their eyes completely in the first few days. These are expected events that pass on their own within the first week.
It can be seen that the brows drop to their old places over time.
Although loss of sensation is rare, there may be a complete loss of sensation at the edges of the eyebrows. However, these usually disappear after a few weeks. Losses that last for months may rarely be encountered, but will eventually resolve for good.
Hair loss can also be rare. However, the hair will definitely come back.
