Assoc. Dr. Mustafa ATABEY
Dr. Atabey was born in Kırşehir in 1983. After completing his primary and secondary education here, he started his professional life by graduating from Erciyes University in 2007. After his compulsory service in the Yerköy district of Yozgat, he started his specialization in General Surgery in 2008 at Cumhuriyet University, Department of General Surgery.
During his assistantship, he worked as an assistant representative in his clinic and in the Assistant Commission of the Turkish Surgery Association. After specialization, he performed his compulsory service in Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı. He also served as the chief physician of the same hospital during the compulsory service period. After his compulsory service, he was appointed as Assistant Professor to Cumhuriyet University, where he specialized, in 2015 and served until May 2018.
During his tenure, Bariatric Metabolic Surgery, Laparoscopic Cancer Surgery, Reflux Surgery, Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery has successfully accomplished many firsts. During this time, Dr.Atabey, who participated in many Laparoscopic surgery trainings, also received Robotic Surgery training at Cleveland Clinic. Afterwards, he started to work at Medicana Sivas Hospital. Atabey successfully performed many laparoscopic surgeries here as well. He also worked part-time at the Medicana group Bahçelievler/Istanbul Hospital. Continuing his academic activities at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine from 2019 to August 2021, Dr. Atabey was given the title of Associate Professor by the Interuniversity Board in May 2021. Married and father of one child, Assoc. Mustafa ATABEY is still active in BAU Medical Park Göztepe and VM Medical Park Maltepe hospitals in Istanbul.
